i-mate moves into the software space
17/04/2006
Leading vendor adds further in-house software solutions to its smartphone and PDA offerings
i-mate, the specialists in Windows Mobile® hardware and
software solutions and services, is further developing the functionality of the
smartphone segment with the launch of i-mate Suite, a complete enterprise mobility
solution, and its new “Play-In ~ Play-Out” technology for gamers.
Jim Morrison, CEO and founder, commented: “i-mate has established itself very quickly
as a leader in the mobility space. Our deep understanding of the Microsoft® Windows
Mobile® platform puts us in a perfect position to develop software that fully utilises the
functionality and capability of i-mate mobile devices. No other company currently
has the capability to offer these kinds of solutions in this way.”
Increasing the value proposition of mobile devices and delivering an out-of-the-box
mobile solution is a key part of i-mate’s development strategy. The launch of these
latest software solutions allow users to make the most of their devices, and companies
to benefit from mobility quickly and with no compromise to their security.
A recent report published by analyst house Nomura says that i-mate’s “strategy is
spot-on for delivering what corporations require from mobility.” The report continues:
“To date only i-mate with Microsoft has decided to enter the market for offering
enterprise grade mobile solutions, and as a result we expect that in 2006, the bulk of
Microsoft mobile-enabled devices will be shipped by i-mate.”
Morrison concluded: “Software development is a natural progression for i-mate.
These new software suites and applications make all Windows Mobile platform devices
even more indispensable, enhancing the customer experience and device functionality.”
Both i-mate Suite and the “play-in play-out” technology will be available from the
beginning of May 2006 from clubimate.com, the 24/7 global online technical
support network that helps i-mate registered owners access a range of proprietary and
third party developed content and applications.
