HP Strengthens Mobile Portfolio with Launch of New HP iPAQ Handhelds

Sleek new designs and enhanced capabilities offer customer choice in form and function
HP today expanded its mobile offerings, including three new HP iPAQ Pocket PCs [...]to make it easier than ever before for active professionals to be more productive while on the go.
The introductions include the all new HP iPAQ rx5000 series Travel Companion, the HP iPAQ rw6815 Personal Messenger and the HP iPAQ rx4000 Mobile Media Companion. The new HP iPAQ handhelds are equipped with the latest Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0 operating system and deliver enhanced mobile communication, entertainment and productivity through simpler navigation and access to data.

HP iPAQ Travel Companion is the ideal personal travel partner, with everything users would expect from a premier navigation system pre-installed and ready to use - car cradle and car charger included - just turn it on and go. Plus, the HP iPAQ Travel Companion is still a full-function handheld in a stylish new look - providing a mobile office, mobile entertainment and mobile connectivity to surf the web or connect to email with integrated WLAN (selected model) The innovative, slim, sleek design makes it easy to use it either in the car or as pedestrian while walking through the city.
Key features include:
• An integrated, high performance GPS antenna and the latest SiRF Star III GPS receiver insure a strong connection without the need for clumsy, bulky flip-up or external antennas.
• New TomTom Navigator 6 navigation software and complete regional or Maps of Western Europe pre-installed on internal 1GB/2GB Flash memory (vary per model)
• Multi-lingual interface provides over 30 different language user interface options with voice guidance

• Calendar, Contacts, Tasks, and e-mail sync automatically over the mobile phone network using Direct Push Technology, keeping schedules, important phone numbers, and "to do" lists up to date
• Microsoft® Office lets users read presentations, spreadsheets and documents so they can work when and where they want.
• Entertainment features combine user music, photos, videos and built-in HP Photosmart Camera all together in one ultra-portable device.
The
HP iPAQ rx4000 Mobile Media Companion features over 1 GB of user available memory makes it simple to carry along music, photos, and videos (rx4500 model only), with Secure Digital (supports SDIO) slot allowing easy transfer and storage of content onto SD and MMC memory cards6.

• HP Photosmart Mobile software turns the HP iPAQ into a digital photo album featuring photos on the vibrant display with wide-viewing angle.
• The rx4000 supports Skype - a software program for making free PC-to-PC calls over the Internet to anyone else who also has Skype. It's free and easy to download and use. Users just install, plug-in the headset, and start calling.
All iPAQs introduced today include a number of connectivity and data protection features, including WLAN (selected models) access to enable users to connect to the Internet and e-mail on the go. Bluetooth 2.0 EDR wireless technology enables convenient, wire-free, short-range communication with other Bluetooth devices1 so users can synchronize personal data, and surf the Internet wirelessly or print photos wirelessly to an HP Bluetooth printer. In addition, all iPAQs introduced today include persistent storage to help prevent the loss of data, settings, and installed applications if users remove or forget to charge the battery. All the new products are RoHS compliant. At end of life HP's customers can send the products to a designated point where they will be recycled for free.
